Behavioral therapy

Behavioral therapy is a set of methods aimed at reducing the frequency and intensity of a child's unwanted behavior by correcting and reinforcing desired responses to external and internal stimuli. The method is based on the principles of applied behavior analysis, used together with elements of the verbal behavior approach, projective methods, the Early Start Denver Model and a number of psychological practices.     The therapy is used to correct a child's behavioral responses in learning, everyday and social activities.  Which difficulties can behavioral therapy help with?           You should definitely see a specialist if you notice that your child:

• Has outbursts of aggression and self-injurious behavior
• ignores instructions and requests
• throws toys around
• uses screaming and crying to get what they want
• makes strange repetitive movements or specific sounds, or spins around
• runs away during walks
• resists wearing a hat or other items of clothing.
