LEITER-3 assessment: a test of nonverbal intelligence and cognitive abilities
Leiter-3 (Leiter International Performance Scale) is a method for assessing nonverbal intelligence and the neuropsychological processes underlying it.
Leiter-3 has a wide range of question difficulty, so it can be used to assess both intellectual disabilities and giftedness.
This test is unique in offering growth profiles that help to assess development over time. Leiter-3 also provides difficulty coefficients for each question.
The test gives an IQ score, as well as percentile and age-equivalent scores for each subtest. Unlike other IQ tests, Leiter-3 measures only fluid intelligence, which is in line with modern views on IQ and the principles of its assessment.
Leiter-3 has high concurrent validity with other reference intelligence assessments, such as WISC-IV, WAIS-IV and Raven's Matrices.
